Reminder: There will be two meetings of the RWCC in July
Sharon Hanek, from Olympia, is the special guest speaker on July 30th at Republican Headquarters. This event will be in addition to the Republican Women of Clallam County's usual monthly meeting on July 27th.
Sharon, the Research Mom, will speak primarily on education, the influence of environmentalism on our education system, and activism. This event is scheduled from 7:00 p.m. until approximately 9:00 p.m. Men are invited.
Contributions of desserts will be welcomed, but bringing one is optional.
For more information, please contact Susan at rescueliberty@q.com.
The June meeting featured state legislature candidates Jim McEntire and Dan Gase. They each spoke about their reasons for running, gave their backgrounds, and fielded questions from those present.
The May 25, 2010 meeting was held at 6:30 (6:00 for dinner) at Jeremiahs BBQ Restaurant in Sequim.
Our guest speakers were Doug Cloud and Jesse Young, both hoping to win Norm Dicks’ seat in Congress. Each of the men shared their philosophy, their ideas for change in Washington, D.C., and answered questions from the audience.
Thanks to everyone for the gift items for our military guys and gals on our "Shoebox Project" list. We plan to send the next shipment at the end of July. For information about preferred items please call 683-5079 (message phone) after May 5th. Items may be left at headquarters. For a list of suggestions please check at www.clallamrepublicans.org.
Steve Marble addresses water issues in Clallam County
Steve covered the Instream Flow Rule issued by Washington State Department of Ecology, and how the water levels required in the river backed by "modeling" cannot realistically be met, which will cause a huge reduction in the number of new wells. That, along with the metering of wells, poses additional restrictions and fees on property owners. To read his report, go to the Citizen Review Online, click here. Thanks to everyone for the gift items for our military guys and gals on our "Shoebox Project" list. We plan to send the next shipment at the end of the summer. Items may be left at headquarters. For a list of suggestions please check at www.clallamrepublicans.org.
About Our Ongoing Shoebox Project.... We're starting work on the next shipment of boxes to our servicemen and women serving overseas. Suggestions for items can be found at www.clallamrepublicans.org/rwcc/list.pdf We could also use a couple more overseas addresses. Please email to Lois Perry. We do not need soap, but do need other items. Most of the servicemen are in warm countries in the Spring. We do not have women's names for this shipment. Please leave items at headquarters, or at The Master Locksmith's office in Sequim (445 W. Washington), with Sue Forde. For more information, please call Lois Perry at 360-683-5079, and leave a message. Or email lomayk@yahoo.com.

Our last meeting was held on Jan. 16, 2010, at the home of Martha Ireland. We had a wonderful potluck brunch, with time to get to know one another - and there are plenty of new members - a good time was had by all, with wonderful food!
Brenda Petrick, Washington Federation of Republican Women, Peninsula District Director, installed Officers for 2010-2011: Co-Presidents: Lois Perry & Sue Forde, 1st VP Susan Shotthafer; 2nd VP Ruth Hale; Treasurer Teri Schwiethale and Secretary Martha Ireland.
Sue Forde reported on shoebox project. We plan to do our next mailing at end of March. Lois can continue to do the addresses and correspondence, but we need a committee to organize the project.
Sue also covered the upcoming caucuses, fielding questions about the procedure and what was to be expected there.
Brenda gave a report about the Republican Women across the state. This year will be a turning point in history, she pointed out - hopefully turning back to the Constitutional goals of our founding fathers.
There was discussion about the types of meetings to be held this year.
We invite you to join us if you haven't already - men are also welcome to join as affiliate members.
Thanks to everyone who has been so generous in donating gifts for our service men and women. Check our Web site for items needed. Also, we need money for postage.
We need to add names to our gift list. Please furnish name of contact person, their branch of the military, and where they are serving. Also their deployment and return dates.
For more information email lomayk@yahoo.com or phone for Lois at 683-5079.
Our Shoebox Project...
One of the ongoing projects the RWCC is working on is to send boxes of goodies to our troops serving overseas (The "Shoebox Project"). RWCC needs your help with gathering items to include - gifts gathered and sent to military personnel. Please leave your donations at headquarters or at Sue Forde's office (445 W. Washington, Sequim, WA - east door at the Master Locksmith's shop). A gift-suggestion list is available at http://clallamrepublicans.org/rwcc/list.pdf.
The next military gift mailing is planned for July. We are in need of names of troops serving overseas for this project, preferably from the North Olympic Peninsula, or relatives of troops who live here. Click here for more information about the project.
Checks for postage would also be much appreciated.
